A 15-minute Introduction to the Collection - in Swedish

Short introduction to Nordic painting and sculpture from the 19th century.

Målningen visar ett konstfyllt rum där människor studerar och umgås kring konstverk. Den centrala marmorskulpturen och de många tavlorna betonar konstens betydelse. Bilden kan symbolisera kultur, bildning och konstens värde i samhället.

Join a 15-minute introduction to the Göteborg Museum of Art. The tour takes place in the Fürstenberg Gallery, at the top of the museum, where you’ll gain insight into both the collection and the museum as a whole.

Here you will encounter Nordic painting and sculpture from the 1880s and 1890s, presented in a setting inspired by the home of collectors Göthilda and Pontus Fürstenberg.

During this period, art underwent major changes. You’ll learn what made artists such as Carl Larsson, Anders Zorn, Bruno Liljefors and Hanna Pauli innovative and significant in their time.

Meet in the largest room of the Fürstenberg Gallery, by the elevator on the 6th floor.
