Raj’s Anti-Fascist Dance Show Talkshow Show Show

Fabulous queerilicious show with Baba Karam king legend Raj and friends

The dancing drag artist and Bollywood star Raj, famous for the art collective Ful’s beloved show “Baba Karam – through Jamileh and Khordadian”, is back!!! Welcome to the world premiere of their new show: a political, humorous and dance-filled show show. Enjoy Baba Karam dance tutorials, anti-fascist speeches, queer sing-alongs, fabulous drag acts and much, much more! You’ll be warmly guided by the entertainer Raj and their sidekicks Nasim Aghili and Baba Jam from Ful. Plus, Raj has invited some extra-fabulous, mega-famous guest artists! Namely:

Edith Hammar, a visual artist whose primary medium is drawing. Their figurative and often large-scale images feature autobiographical motifs. The focus is on gender-fluid characters interacting in various states of undress or full attire.

Jafar The Superstar (IR/SE), a drag artist and game developer who play with kitsch, camp, spiritual commercialization, Iranian queer culture, hypersexualization, and celebrity worship through subversive comedy and multimedia.

Moa Johansson, an interdisciplinary artist interested in the practical, emotional, and performative aspects of clothing.

Lasse Långström participates as one of his many alter egos: Problematika, high priestess of the anarcho-spiritualist homosexual coven of precarious avant-garde artists.

Nilo Zamiri, an artist and cultural producer who highlights issues of justice through dance, poetry, events, and interactive art. As a dancer, she draws inspiration from California’s Bay Area, focusing on popping combined with Iranian dance movements. Her artistic practice emphasizes creating collective gathering spaces as forms of resistance, for example by establishing platforms for underrepresented voices.

Tyler/T’leyley Merlin (she/they), your local Black Queer multi creative and organiser. Tyler/T’leyley Merlin dance, act, sing, and write. You name it.

BACKGROUND

Ful’s new performance comes at just the right time as a declaration of love for freedom of expression, democracy and solidarity during a polarising and hate-fuelled election summer. Since 2014, Ful has been staging election performances that raise community and freedom in an increasingly fascist era.Through Raj’s show, Ful aims to celebrate and highlight queerness through a sense of folksiness rooted in playfulness and equality, rather than nationalist, heteronormative and transphobic ideologies.
