Sign language interpretation of Jazz on Pippi's Tune with Jamila & Amina

Playful family concert with sign language interpretation by Jamila and Amina.

Två personer står på en scen framför en mörk bakgrund och bär svarta kläder. Kropparna är vända snett mot varandra och armarna formar tydliga, uttrycksfulla positioner i luften. Den ena personen sträcker en hand framåt medan den andra håller armarna högt

Saturday 29 August 11:00 – 11:45 Kungstorget / Basargatan ( scenen )

Jamila and Amina Ouahid are deaf identical twins and multidisciplinary artists working with sign language, performing arts and visual storytelling. Through their creative work, they aim to build bridges between hearing and deaf communities, while highlighting the importance of representation and encounters between different languages and cultures.

During the Gothenburg city festival, they take part as sign language performers in the family concert “Jazz à la Pippi” alongside Sarah Riedel, where Astrid Lindgren’s stories are brought to life through music and visual storytelling for both hearing and deaf children and families.

They are currently featured in the acclaimed documentary “Hörande, hörande – vi har drömmar precis som ni” (2026), directed by Nisti Stêrk, which portrays their artistic work and perspectives on accessibility and representation.
