Since 2015, the area in the historic harbour district has functioned as a summer pedestrian street, with outdoor seating, temporary benches and planters. Now the street has become a permanent pedestrian zone, with new paving and smooth walking paths that make it more accessible to everyone.
The existing rough-and-ready charm of Tredje Långgatan has served as inspiration for the design. Greenery, brick, wood and playful street furniture are all part of the concept. The idea is for the pedestrian street to work just as well during the winter, when fewer people are outdoors and the outdoor seating areas are closed.
