The activities during our festival are free and open to everyone. However, you pay for food and drinks that are sold at the festival’s food vendors.

Some programme items have an age limit or a recommended age. This is shown in the subheading.

Göteborgskalaset is organized by Gothenburg & Co, which is a part of the City of Gothenburg. The festival is also financed in collaboration with the partners and collaborating organizations.

Absolutely! There will be a schedule for all ages, not least for our youngest visitors. You can find out more about activities for children here!

If an event has an age restriction, this will be stated on the website.

Unfortunately, the programme has already been finalised and there is no room for additional acts. If you’re interested in participating in next year’s festival, we recommend keeping an eye out for our next Open Call this autumn.

We work actively with sustainability across environmental, social and economic areas, and strive to continuously develop the festival in a more sustainable direction together with our partners.

Only a small number of programme items require advance booking. Information on how to book can be found on the relevant programme page for each event.

Each programme item has a heart icon. Click it to add the event to your favourites. You can view all your saved favourites on the My Favourites page.

We recommend walking, cycling or using public transport to travel between the festival areas. You can easily plan your journey on the Västtrafik website. During the festival, you can also receive a free single ticket with Västtrafik and use Styr & Ställ bikes free of charge. You can read more about these offers here.

Each participating organiser is responsible for handling lost property at their own venue or activity. Please speak to staff at the location where you believe you lost your item, and they will assist you.

Portable toilets will be available at all festival sites.

For private use, you are welcome to photograph activities and concerts during Göteborgskalaset. If you are a professional photographer, you’ll need to apply for photo accreditation. The application opens during the summer of 2026. Read more on our Press and Media page.

Photographers and videographers will be documenting the Gothenburg city festival on site. The material may be used in our communications, including on social media. If you do not wish to appear in photos or videos, you have the right to object or withdraw your consent. Read more about how to do this and how we handle photos and videos here.

Gothenburg city festival attracts large numbers of visitors. To help manage crowd flows and increase safety, surveillance cameras are in operation across the festival’s main areas. Read more about how we process personal data.

Yes, queuing for concerts is permitted. Please note that the area in front of the stage at Götaplatsen is closed overnight. The area will open at 3.00 pm on Thursday 27 August, 12.00 pm on Friday 28 August, and 11.00 am on both Saturday 29 August and Sunday 30 August (please note that opening times are subject to change).

No, camping is not permitted.

At present, we do not expect a bag ban to be introduced, as the police generally no longer impose such restrictions.

At Götaplatsen, there is an elevated viewing platform with spaces for wheelchair users. As capacity is limited, we recommend arriving early.
