Gothenburg festival big folk festival

From 27–30 August, it’s easy to just stop by. Göteborgskalaset, Gothenburg’s city festival, takes over the heart of the city. Expect music, food, lively crowds and experiences around every corner.

This year, the main stage is at Götaplatsen – with the biggest artists and plenty of space to create concert memories together.

The programme will be released soon. Scroll down for a preview of what Göteborgskalaset 2026 has in store.

Everything is within walking distance.

Wander around, pause for a moment and follow the sound.

Concerts, dance, food and activities for all ages come together here – with room for the unexpected along the way.

On the upper part of Avenyn, the street will be closed to traffic as restaurants and bars move outdoors. Take a seat along the grand boulevard, raise a glass and get ready for the concert – or stay on afterwards and let the summer evening continue.

This year’s programme will be released at the beginning of summer. Keep an eye on this website and follow us on Facebook, Instagram and TikTok.

All concerts and activities are completely free of charge. You only pay for food and drink purchased from the festival’s participating food vendors.

Will there be activities for children?
Absolutely. There will be something for all ages – especially for our youngest visitors. The full programme will be published on our website at the beginning of summer.
